Tunde Adegbola is a Research Scientist, Consulting Engineer and Culture Activist. As the Executive Director of the African Languages Technology Initiative (Alt-i), he leads a team of researchers in appropriating modern information communication technologies (ICTs) for African languages. His research interests lie at the intersection of Information Science, Telecommunications and Linguistics, investigating amongst other things the exploitation of Speech Surrogacy and other features of African tone languages in Speech Technologies and Telecommunications.

Between 2012 and 2016 Alt-I partnered with Microsoft Corporation to localise Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8, as well as the corresponding versions of Office Suite packages for Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba, the most widely spoken indigenous languages in Nigeria. Tunde functioned as the moderator in these projects.

Tunde has garnered an experience of over 40 years as a lecturer, bringing his industry knowledge to classrooms in various Nigerian universities.
