Our story, mission, and the people behind IbaFest.

About IbaFest

The Ibadan Book and Arts Festival, popularly known as ÌBÀFEST, is a multidisciplinary literary and cultural festival rooted in Ibadan, Nigeria. It brings together writers, readers, artists, performers, publishers, educators, filmmakers, cultural practitioners, thinkers and audiences around the ideas, questions and stories that shape our lives. At its heart, IBAFEST is about the power of stories to connect people, open up difficult conversations and make room for perspectives that are often overlooked. It is a festival of books and the arts, but it is also a meeting place for people, ideas, places and possibilities. IBAFEST was conceived from a belief that a city’s cultural life should not simply be something it inherits. It should be something its people actively create, nurture and pass on. Ibadan, with its remarkable intellectual, literary, educational and cultural history, provides a natural home for such an undertaking.

Our Mission

To create an inclusive platform where literature and the arts bring people together, amplify diverse voices, nurture emerging talent, and encourage meaningful conversations about our world and our future.

Our Vision

To build a vibrant cultural community where stories, ideas and creativity inspire deeper understanding and a more imaginative future.
